Performing arts high schools...?
answers1: At the bottom of the page <br>
<a href="http://arkansased.org/schools/schools_public_sites.html"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://arkansased.org/schools/schools_pu...</a>
<br>
you will find the performing arts schools in Arkansas.
answers2: one among my pals named Shelby is going to a appearing Arts
extreme college. She reported that this is relaxing and gets you on
the right song to a professional occupation. Plus, Shelby is going for
loose! (So perhaps you may even!) good success this year! [: She is
going to a minimum of one in New Jersey. I overlook the call of it
however. i'm sorry. you may seem up appearing paintings extreme
faculties in the hot Jersey section. (She lives close to Ocean city if
that facilitates.)

What is the best High School in NYC to go to for Performing Art in Dancing?
answers1: If you are looking only in Queens, you should look into the
Frank Sinatra School, in Long Island City. It's supposed to be an
excellent school of the arts. <br>
<br>
You do have to audition. It is not one of the specialized schools, but
goes on your regular high school application. <br>
<br>
If you don't mind travelling into Manhattan, you should try to get
into Laguardia. Considered the best arts school in the City, it's VERY
hard to get into. You need to indicate that you want to apply for
Laguardia long before the other application is due in. Tell your
guidence counselor, as this is a specialized school, and has special
requirements. You will need a special audition ticket to apply. <br>
<br>
Good luck! <br>
answers2: Well, the best high school for performing arts is LaGuardia,
but it's in Manhattan. <br>
If you're looking for one in Queens, you might like Frank Sinatra. <br>
Or two other high schools in Manhattan you might enjoy are
Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) or Talent Unlimited. <br>
Good luck with your auditions!

Performing Arts School?
answers1: Performing arts seems to be the better choice. If u r not
shy, and love to act and dance, and it's cheaper, u should choose
that. Maybe u should talk to ur friends and family and ask there
opinion. good luck!
answers2: Well theres a performing arts high school in Louisville, KY
and its public so money shouldn't be a problem. You have to apply and
audition though. But you can audition for specific fields. here's a

Any performing arts schools in NYC?
answers1: LaGuardia High School of Music and Art and Performing Arts <br>
Professional Performing Arts High School <br>
Talent Unlimited <br>
<br>
These are the best in my opinion and i'm hoping to be accepted to
LaGuardia or PPAS for dance. TU is an okay school, but the first two
are better.
answers2: there are like a million in nyc, but theyre mostly colleges.
Julliard is really prestigious one. google it.
answers3: There are 2 performing arts H.S. in NYC. There is "the H.S.
of Performing Arts" (also called PPAS) and "LaGuardia Arts" (the FAME
school.) <br>
<br>
If you are talking about colleges there are: <br>
NYU Tisch, Marymount NY, Juilliard, American Academy of Dramatic Arts,
The New School, Actors studio, to name a few. <br>
<br>
*note to Tiffy: PPAS doesn't have dance classes. They just give you
time off to take your classes outside of school like at BAE, Ailey or
SAB. LGuardia Arts give dance classes as part of the curriculum. If
you go to SAB, during the day they give you credit. Otherwise you take
3 hours of ballet and modern right at the school. Good luck with your
auditions.

why is history important?
answers1: So that if somebody with the last name "Bush" were to run
for president, you would know why not to vote for him.
answers2: So that the negative does not repeat itself
answers3: because it teaches you about what happen on the old times
and so you won't do them again(what experience does) and staff like
that!
answers4: History gives one a greater perspective on the world and how
it came to be this way. It is necessary to learn history. It is an
invaluable resource for one to be able to cut through the bull that
the media (via the candidates) use to try to sway public opinion. A
working knowledge of history is extremely helpful in forming ones own
opinion.
answers5: Someone once said "One who knows no history remains a baby."
Now think about that and expand on it and you'll have a pretty good
essay.
answers6: So we don't repeat ourselves and don't make the same mistakes twice.

brief history of spectroscopy?
answers1: Unfortunately it is not clear what sort of spectroscopy you
are after the history of but .. <br>
<br>
Spectroscopy was born in 1801, when the British scientist William
Wollaston discovered the existence of dark lines in the solar
spectrum. Thirteen years later, Jospeh von Fraunhofer repeated
Wollaston's work and hypothesized that the dark lines were caused by
an absence of certain wavelengths of light. It was not until 1859,
however, when German physicist Gustav Kirchhoff was able to
successfully purify substances and conclusively show that each pure
substance produces a unique light spectrum, that analytical
spectroscopy was born. Kirchhoff went on to develop a technique for
determining the chemical composition of matter using spectroscopic
analysis that he, along with Robert Bunsen, used to determine the
chemical make up of the sun. <br>
<br>
The end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth centuries was
marked by significant efforts to quantify and explain the origin of
spectral phenomena. Beginning with the simplest atom, hydrogen,
scientists including Johann Balmer and Johannes Rydberg developed
equations to explain the atom's frequency spectrum. It was not until
Niels Bohr developed his famous model in 1913 that the energy levels
of the hydrogen spectrum could accurately be calculated. However,
Bohr's model failed miserably when applied to other elements that had
more than one electron. It took the development of quantum mechanics
by Werner Heisenberg and Erwin Schrodinger in 1925 to universally
explain the spectra of most elements. <br>
<br>
From the discovery of unique atomic spectra developed modern
spectroscopy. The three main varieties of spectroscopy in use today
are absorption, emission, and scattering spectroscopy. Absorption
spectroscopy, including Infrared and Ultraviolet spectroscopy,
measures the wavelengths of light that a substance absorbs to give
information about its structure. Emission spectroscopy, such as
fluorescence and laser spectroscopy, measures the amount of light of a
certain wavelength that a substance reflects. Lastly, scattering
spectroscopy, to which Raman spectroscopy belongs, is similar to
emission spectroscopy but detects and analyzes all of the wavelengths
that a substance reflects upon excitation. <br>

Are there any trustworthy free genealogy sites?
answers1: Begin by understanding that your private information
(parents, etc) is confidential... meaning, no website should be able
to give you that. What is trustworthy is your own personal
documentation.. ie your birth certificate; your parents; grandparents,
etc. Info on living persons should never be online. <br>
Once you have worked from the PRESENT backwards.. and now have
names/dates/places for (say) 8 of the gr grandparents, you can work to
locate valid records on them. The 1930 census is open for research..
however, the one place with all census records is ancestry.com. It is
not free.. it is worth the $$. You can get a great deal of info from
those records (your library often offers it free to patrons). <br>

Knowledge of HOW TO is free... but genealogy itself isn't. It's up to
you as to how much you really think the knowledge is worth. My advice
(many yrs experience) is to make the priority of research to be
finding your ancestors, not necessarily websites, and not necessarily
free.
answers2: Try www.familysearch.org. If they can't help you they have a
list of other family history websites
answers3: Start with what your family knows as for certain (names,
birth dates and places, marriage dates and place, death dates and
places. Get all the siblings too where you know you have the right
family. Go back as far as you can go. Then check out the following
websites for HINTS. Don't take any of it as right. Do your own
research to PROVE it right or wrong. I have inadvertently put the
wrong John to the right father. There were 2 sons named John but when
the 1st John died as a baby they named the next son born John too. I
put all th children of the 2nd John for the 1st John. Confusing, HUH?

Why did Matthew and Luke presented the genealogy of Jesus?
answers1: I'm not going to give you your whole essay, but I will give
you these facts to ponder: Luke was a historian, so his including
Jesus' genealogy (all the way back to Adam, through Mary's line) was
somewhat mandatory. Matthew, on the other hand, was making an
argument for Jesus being the Messiah, from the line of David (though
his list is through Joseph's line). This is why he counted the number
of generations between Jesus and Abraham. <br>
<br>
It's kind of odd when you stop to think about it, but Joseph and Mary
were of royal blood. Especially Joseph. There's nothing to say that
he wasn't from a line of firstborns since Jeconiah, the last king of
Judah. We're not given the birth order of Joseph's ancestors after
Jeconiah.
answers2: if you read the genealogy in the bible, and the begats and
whatnot its pretty nasty stuff, <br>

answers to this type of question. Good Luck.

What are the risks associated with Genealogy research?
answers1: I am with Shirley. <br>
Finding scandals and such is a common part of research. People might
not like them, but they are facts and should not be hidden or altered.
<br>
The biggest "risk" is that of inaccurate information.. and today, most
people wrongly assume that they can just punch in their name and find
their family tree. <br>
Genealogy isn't difficult.. but anyone doing it, HAS TO UNDERSTAND the
critical need for having proof/ original or reasonable documents to
verify the work. <br>
Assume for a minute that John Smith is either the son of James Smith,
or his brother Jeremiah Smith. Assume dad died, and son John lives
with his uncle/wife after dad's death. UNLESS you find the record to
say that the right parent is James and his wife, then you might claim
Jeremiah is the dad..along with his wife. Since you want to take it
further.. the WRONG WIFE is not related at all, and you might spend
thousands of dollars, researching the ancestry of a woman who turns
out to be the aunt. <br>
Many people do careless work, and post it, without proof. Other people
see it, and don't want to do the work, and accept that which is
incorrect . Worse than a virus. <br>
From a business view.. if you don't know a lot about research, many
people will think it will only take you 5 hrs, and want to pay
accordingly. GOOD research can take years to find ONE RECORD. You need
to be able to define exactly what you do, and what the fee is. And if
you spend 2 weeks looking for a wrong or non existant record.. you
still have put labor out, that needs to be paid. <br>
one more <br>
People define family in different terms. If I am organizing a
reunion, I want to find children (desc) of John Smith and his wife.
Those are living people. Genealogy, on the other hand, is finding
John's BACKGROUND, meaning dead ancestors. Thus, you again have to
make it clear what the goal is.
answers2: - You might find out that one of their forefathers was a
criminal, something not everyone likes to know. <br>
- You might stumble upon a foundling, whose mother left her child on
some doorstep. In that case, you will be unable to get any further.
<br>
- The registers you would like to use for your research could have
been destroyed in a war. <br>
- You might end up in a foreign country, and all documents are in a
language you do not understand. <br>
- The name of one of your forefathers was John Smith, but about 10
John Smiths were born around the same time in the same city. Which one
is the right one? <br>
- On arrival in the US, many people got a more English sounding name.
What was their original surname? <br>
answers3: The first 3 gave excellent examples. <br>
<br>
30 years ago I thought it was great that so many people were getting
involved in genealogy as the more everyone learned there could be
sharing. <br>
<br>
However, the internet has left me horrified. Too many people think
that family trees on the internet are absolutely correct and they
think nothing of copying. A lot of people resent being copied but
they have to understand they are asking for that when they put it out
there. <br>
<br>
Most of the family trees on the internet whether on a free site or one
that you have to pay to subscribe to have no documentation or they
have poor documentation such as someone else's URL. <br>
<br>
Because of the copying once someone puts an error out on the web it
gets multiplied many times. <br>
<br>
Some do not realize that quality genealogy means a verifiable family
tree with documents, records, not seeing how many names you can put in
your family tree. <br>
<br>
One website, Genealogy.Com, use to encourage people to merge other
people's family tree into theirs so they can have more names. I don't
know if they still do that. <br>
<br>
There is an advertisement for Ancestry.Com now running on TV.
Ancestry.Com is probably the best site for the amount of original
source records they have on line. So when the lady in the ad talks
about fiinding her grandfather's WWI draft registration card, she is
talking about an original source documentaiton. But then when she
talks about finding members of her family in family trees, this is
misleading people thinking that is how to do their genealogy. Those
trees are not submitted by some expert working for the website but by
folks like us. A lot of them have copied what someone else has
already posted and there are errors. <br>
<br>
Edit: I might add even names that are not all that common can cause a
problem as families in the past used the same names over and over.
One of my great great grandfathers had an uncle, a brother, a son and
a grandson named Zachariah Berry Jackson. Those probably weren't the
only 4. Probably his brother and his uncle had a Zachariah Berry
Jackson also. <br>
<br>
Another edit: I was just looking at a family tree on Ancestry.Com and
found that my younger sister and myself are both dead. No date of
death but we died in New Jersey. The only time either of us was in
New Jersey was in the 1950s when we drove through it going and coming
from New York. It is defintely us as it has correct birth
information.
answers4: I'm doing that right now for my family. Its interesting how
you can find a paper trail on the travels of your relatives.Here I
thought they were country bumpkins that never traveled! If I had
expected them to be in a particular place all this time...and now I
see they were somewhere else...that could change your whole
perspective and /or respect for a relative. I think its all
fascinating. My image of ancestors in my family has certainly changed.
They were quiet different in their youth! Like the person above
suggested....I've also learned of a couple 'indiscretions' <br>
from a great grandfather and great uncle where each produced a child!
answers5: The only real problem I can think of would be making a
mistake in finding family members. Overlooking real family members,
Identifying wrong people as members.
answers6: You might discover so called "skeletons in the closet" -
relationships to people that may cause unwanted stress (i.e
criminals), or could discover evidence of infidelity, adoption/etc.
<br>
<br>
answers7: When you start digging into your family's then along with
name dates and all the other things we find, you have to be prepared
for all the family secrets, which can be any thing from incest to
murder. <br>

answers8: Get a No Cost Background Check Scan at <a
href="https://bitly.im/aO1qZ"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>https://bitly.im/aO1qZ</a> <br>
<br>
Its a sensible way to start. The site allows you to do a no cost scan
simply to find out if any sort of data is in existence. A smaller
analysis is done without cost. To get a detailed report its a modest
payment. <br>
<br>
You may not realize how many good reasons there are to try and find
out more about the people around you. After all, whether you're
talking about new friends, employees, doctors, caretakers for elderly
family members, or even significant others, you, as a citizen, have a
right to know whether the people you surround yourself with are who
they say they are. This goes double in any situation that involves
your children, which not only includes teachers and babysitters, but
also scout masters, little league coaches and others. Bottom line, if
you want to find out more about someone, you should perform a
background check.
answers9: All the above is good. <br>
<br>
Also, you might find a living illegitimate child who has the right to
a share in the family fortunes.
Finding scandals and such is a common part of research. People might
not like them, but they are facts and should not be hidden or altered.
<br>
<br>
<br>
<br>
30 years ago I thought it was great that so many people were getting
involved in genealogy as the more everyone learned there could be
sharing. <br>
<br>
However, the internet has left me horrified. Too many people think
that family trees on the internet are absolutely correct and they
think nothing of copying. A lot of people resent being copied but
they have to understand they are asking for that when they put it out
there. <br>
<br>
Most of the family trees on the internet whether on a free site or one
that you have to pay to subscribe to have no documentation or they
have poor documentation such as someone else's URL. <br>
<br>
Because of the copying once someone puts an error out on the web it
gets multiplied many times. <br>
<br>
Some do not realize that quality genealogy means a verifiable family
tree with documents, records, not seeing how many names you can put in
your family tree. <br>

Are there any good, accurate and free genealogy sites?
answers1: There is no site that you can type 'your' name into that
will show all your relatives and what they know about them, unless you
find a family tree online that someone else has researched the same
ancestors before you (not to be taken as gospel though) <br>
<br>
www.familysearch.org is a great site to start your research, however
most records only go up to the late 1800's and there are no deaths (or
very few) <br>
<br>
<br>
answers2: Ditto. I agree. Have used it many times, and I have
obtained some very good information from the site....often better than
some of the sites that require subscriptions. Lots of good tips for
research included.
answers3: It isn't as easy as typing your name in and all of your
family history and relatives are going to pop up on one single
website. Genealogy is like putting a puzzle together, where you look
up people by name and then, you work backwards, weeding out those
people who are not related. It also is not something that you are
going to simply be able to complete in a single day or even a single
weekend <it is more of a hobby.> <br>
<br>
Try FamilySearch.org, MyHeritage.com, Rootsweb.com, EllisIsland.org or
CastleGarden.org. <br>
<br>
I have been working on and off on my family tree since around 1994 or
1995 and without making a serious commitment in dedicating all my free
time to it or even spending much money, I have gotten back as far as
1730 (and it is really interesting). <br>
<br>
Good Luck! <br>

answers6: You really expect too much from the internet. It is not a
magic wand. <br>
<br>
First there is NO genealogy site that YOU are going to be on, because
you are a living person. Therefore, there is no genealogy site that
will be able to connect you to any of their records. <br>
<br>
Second, the family trees posted on genealogy sites are NOT created by
some all-knowing expert authority. The trees are user submitted, by
anyone who wants to put their family tree on the internet. This could
be you, me, anyone. Therefore, the accuracy of ALL genealogy sites is
only as reliable as the research done by the persons who posted the
information. You cannot count on the information on those sites being
at all accurate, or even close. You are only supposed to use other
peoples information as clues in doing your own research. Always do
your own research and create a paper trail of legal documents to prove
your work. The legal documents should be things like
birth/marriage/death records, census records, cemetery records, wills,
court records, land records, church records, etc. <br>
<br>
Third, genealogy is not free. There will be expenses. Whether it be
paying for a subscription to a genealogy site, or paying for gas and
travel expenses to go dig up the old records yourself, or whatever.
There will be expenses. <br>
<br>
Genealogy is not about typing in a name and get an instant family
tree. It is real research, like being a detective, putting pieces of
a million-piece jigsaw puzzle together. It is a life-long hobby and
even then it will never be finished. There will always be more to try
to find out. You cannot do it the way you are trying to. If you are
thinking it is going to be that simple, you will get frustrated at the
lack of results and end up quitting.
answers7: <a href="http://www.rootsweb.com"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.rootsweb.com</a> is also free and
useful. <br>
<br>
However, start with <a href="http:///www.tedpack.org"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http:///www.tedpack.org</a> for an intro.
It's free, too, and will help you learn the basics, thus staying away
from danger. <br>
<br>
Genealogy is less about data, and more about how it is properly
processed. It's a methodology discipline, not a matter of simply
collecting information indiscriminately. And a word of warning: it's
VERY addictive! <br>
<br>
Good luck and happy hunting.

out.
answers2: First you should understand that Genealogists do more than
just look up public records,. Ancestry is an excellent site for
beginners. There are Italian and Sicilian genealogy sites on line and
if you use Google the information can be translated into English..
You might want to check with your local Family research Center,
library, Genealogical or History Society, many offer free classes on
how to perform Genealogical research and as part of the classes you
may be given a listing of other sites to try.

answers4: The LDS website has some Italian records, however these are
the IGI so you really can't rely on them to be correct as they are a
collection of parish records and donated records ..........and anyone
can donate and they don't verify the information, however each record
you look at, also look at the source of the record, to see if it has a
primary document number or it is a donated record and record this in
your corrected data...so if it is donated you then can use it to see
if you can find a primary source for the information. <a

<br>
Go to the LDS family history centre near you and ask them to order the
Italian parish records you want, it costs very little and once they
have them you can look at the fiche anytime you like ( as others can)
and they also may have some already there which you can look at for

answers5: Most genealogy sites (including Ancestry) are very useful...
IF you're researching ancestors from the locations the website has
records for, and if you know how to use them. <br>
<br>
Unfortunately, there aren't a whole lot of Italian records online at
this point. If the records you're looking for aren't yet online,
you'll have to find them the old fashioned way. That means either:
<br>
<br>
a) Travel to Italy and visit the archives or other locations where the
records are kept. <br>
<br>
b) Hire someone in Italy to look up the records for you. <br>
<br>
Some Italian records have been microfilmed by the LDS (Mormon) church.
These records are housed at the Family History Library in Salt Lake
City, but you don't have to actually go there to see them. You can
borrow the micofilm and view it at the Family History Center inside
your nearest LDS church. Their catalog is online, so you can take a
look and see what type of records they have for your location in
Italy: <a href="http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/FHLC/frameset_fhlc.asp"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.familysearch.org/eng/Library/...</a>
<br>
<br>
If you haven't already, check out Cyndi's List. There are links to
tons of websites pertaining to Italian genealogy: <a
href="http://www.cyndislist.com/italy.htm"
rel="nofollow"class=Clr-b>http://www.cyndislist.com/italy.htm</a> <br>
<br>
I don't know a whole lot about Italian research, but there are lots of
people who do, and they'll be more than glad to help you out because
genealogists are some of the nicest folks around. You just need to
find them... and the place to find them is where they like to hang
out: genealogy message boards and mail lists that pertain to Italy.
Cyndi's List has links to a bunch of them. <br>
<br>
Good luck!

where did ballroom dancing originate?
answers1: Competitive & social ballroom started in England
answers2: A Glance at the Origins of Ballroom Dancing <br>
<br>
by Esther Kando Odescalchi, Ph.D. <br>
Dancing is one of the earliest art forms of mankind; in it human
emotions are manifested in motion. In primitive societies communal
dancing was associated with religion, magic, medicine, war or nature.
The oldest dance form preserved in human record is a chain or ring
dance -- where dancers join hands -- found on rocks near Luxor, Egypt,
from about 4,000 B.C. But on the same rocks at Luxor, we also find
pair dancing, where couples dance face to face. In Egypt, dancing
seems to have been limited to religious festivals, funeral rites and
temples. We find little evidence of secular dancing. <br>
<br>
In ancient Greece, like in Egypt, most of the dancing was associated
with temple, funeral, athletic, war, choric or dramatic dances. Here,
however, the country people started to dance too, as they, celebrated
the vintage with Bacchic or Dionysic dances at rustic festivals. In
ancient Greece we find the first record of secular dancing, when the
Greek peasants were mimicking their occupations, such as weaving,
reaping, spinning and cooking. <br>
<br>
It is interesting to note that although the Romans appreciated the
dances of other nations, such as the Spanish dances, yet they
themselves did little dancing. <br>
<br>
Social dancing, as we know it, developed in the Middle Ages, when on
holidays the common people had a great time dancing just for fun.
Their dances were intimate and spontaneous. This inspired the nobles
to adopt dancing for entertainment. They changed the simple dances of
the people into grandiose affairs to show off their exquisite and
brilliant costumes. Their dances were non-spontaneous and had to be
learned. The wealthy tradesmen and merchants soon imitated the
nobility's "danza" and as time went by, dances became more and more
elaborate. This gave rise to the proliferation of dance masters. <br>
<br>
At first, court dances were stately and stiff, such as the solemn
"danse basse." Around 1500, the Renaissance brought into dancing the
refreshing influence of the common people. A more natural form of
dancing spread to the courts of Europe: in France it was the lively
"volte" - the favorite dance of England's Queen Elizabeth I - and the
"courante;" in Italy it was the "galliard" and the stately "pavan;" in
Spain it was the passionate "saraband" and "chaconne;" in Germany it
was the sprightly "allemande." <br>
<br>
During the 1600s, the happy mood of the Renaissance dances was
replaced with the stately and formal ones. Around 1650 Lully, the
French composer, introduced the elegant and graceful "minuet," (also
the "bouree" and "passepied"). In addition the "gavotte" gained great
popularity as the new dance of the day. <br>
<br>
By the 1700s the nobility was routinely entertaining its guests with
elegant dances and balls. During this time, the German "waltz" was
introduced bringing simplicity and naturalness to ballroom dancing.
The waltz was probably the first dance in which the close hold was
employed and accepted. The waltz was simple to learn and dance masters
were no longer in great demand. The dances of the 1800s saw the
influence of the common people. The revival of national feeling in
Europe in the 1840's resulted in dances such as the "galop" and
"polka" of Czech origin and the "mazurka" from Poland. The
"quadrille," resembling an old English square dance, also gained
popularity. <br>
<br>
The early 1900s was a turning point for ballroom dancing. The European
"monopoly" on ballroom dancing was challenged by the Americas. It was
for the first time that new dances, such as the barn dance (military
schottische), cakewalk, two-step, Boston and turkey trot were
introduced to Europe from the New World. The famous couple, Irene and
Vernon Castle, refined many of the dances, such as the early foxtrot
(1912-1914). Their execution of the tango (1910-1914) created a tango
craze from Paris to New York. <br>
<br>
In the early 1920's several new dances were introduced, such as the
paso doble, peabody, and one-step (or fast foxtrot). As a result of
the popularity of Dixieland jazz, the Charleston craze engulfed the
dancing world. In 1927 the Lindy Hop or jitterbug found its way to the
dance halls with its acrobatic patterns and lively footwork. In the
1930s the rumba was introduced into ballroom dancing from Cuba. In the
1940s the samba and mambo became popular. In the 1950s the merengue,
cha cha and bossa nova reached New York from Latin America. In the
1960s the twist attained popularity. In the 1970s the hustle, similar
to a six count Lindy, brought touch dancing back to the ballroom
scene. <br>
<br>
Although the disco scene is very much alive, and it is still keeping
dancing couples apart, ballroom dancing, with its grace and elegance
is gaining momentum as we approach the 21st century. *** <br>

Would I be the author if I...?
answers1: If the editor corrects mistakes in grammar, punctuation,
subject-verb agreement, and other matters of writing mechanics, you
would remain the author. <br>
<br>
If the editor must rewrite text rather than correct it, the resulting
text is no longer your creation. The two of you might be considered
co-authors. <br>
<br>
If you are considering hiring an editor to rewrite your work to
"inerpret what I am trying to say," you need a contract which
clarifies ownership of the result.
answers2: Hmm. <br>
<br>
Am I a painter if I describe an image to an artist and have him
render the image on a canvas? <br>

The best author in the World and why?
answers1: It depends on the type of writing, I guess. <br>
<br>
But my personal favorite is the writing duo of Douglas Preston &
Lincoln Child. They write anthropological thrillers that are just
awesome. (They're kind of like a modern Indiana Jones meets the
X-Files type of thing.)
answers2: STEPHENIE MEYER!!111!!banana!!!1hiihi!!! <br>
<br>
Just kidding. <br>
<br>
My favored authors change every month, but I always hold those who
influenced me and my writing with great respect. One of those writers
would have to be Virginia Woolf. Her style of writing is so graceful
and poetic, yet so vivid and beautiful. Her works are of the highest
recommendation from me, particularly Waves. <br>
<br>
As for modern authors, I really like Janet Fitch, author of White
Oleander. Her writing is also very poetic, but it brims with passion
and life. <br>
<br>
As for fantasy authors (I know you didn't ask, but I love fantasy!), I
really like and recommended Phillip Pullman's His Dark Materials
Trilogy and Libba Bray's Gemma Doyle Trilogy. Prepare to be
transported by those. Happy reading!
answers3: J.R.R Tolkien, in my opinion. He created an amazing fantasy
world filled with great characters. Also, is writing and description
are amazing.
answers4: Living author? Tough, I'd say Cormac McCarthy. <br>
<br>
All time? Really, really tough. Dante, Shakespeare, or Dostoevsky.
answers5: Way too big of a question. Each great author has different
characteristics which make him/her the "best" in some minds. And even
then people will disagree. <br>
<br>
My favorite author to read is Shakespeare. His characters, the
structures of his plays, and the way he portrays the different aspects
of life is amazing to me. <br>
<br>
Suggestions: <br>
Dostoevsky : Brothers Karamazov <br>
Cervantes: Don Quixote <br>
Alighieri: Divine Comedy <br>
Tolkien: Lord of the Rings <br>
Bradbury: Farenheit 451

Do authors get paid??????????????????????????????????????????????/?
answers1: yes that is true. And some authors do make money it just
depends on how good there book is and if lots of people buy it, the
more books they sell the more money they make
answers2: Authors don't write for money, they usually have a second
job...if I was out of work, I would start writing just for something
to do until I found another job, or if I had the time in the evenings
I would write. <br>
Authors make money, but most don't make enough money to keep them
going, especially not a regular salary. There are exceptions, such as
J.K. Rowling, but if you have ever heard of Meg Cabot - she's written
a lot of popular books for teenage girls and she still earns well
under the average salary. She writes because she loves it, and that's
why I write. Chances are, I will never get published but it won't stop
me from having fun.
answers3: Well, being an author is more of a hobby for a bit of extra
cash than anything. Their profits on their books depend on how well
their books sell, becuase they are paid a percent of each book sold. I
can name a dozen or so authors that make enough on their books they
don't need to have another job, but for the most part an author just
doesn't make enough money to support themselves off their books. <br>
Usually when a person becomes an author it's because they have been
writing a book and figure that they may as well do something with it
and decide to go out and get it published for a bit of extra cash.
answers4: authors write because they love to <br>
but <br>
if there work is published then they get paid a certent amount for
every book thats sold <br>
so yeah authors get paid <br>

bestselling authors?
answers1: The author usually receives a fixed initial amount as
payment for allowing the publisher to publish and distribute the
author's work. The author will also receive a percentage of the net
profits realized by the publisher throughout the selling cycle. <br>
<br>
The author may or may not give up his rights to the work after this
first publishing cycle. <br>
<br>
The publisher will usually continue to publish as long as there is an
expectation of profit. When that expectation approaches zero, the
publisher will discontinue the effort. <br>
<br>
If the author has retained rights to his work, he can then approach
another publisher to start a new publishing cycle.

its sequel, Blades: The Autobiography of a Rescue-Helicopter Pilot,
both by J. William Turner. Very realistic fiction about Australian
teens facing several tense, dramatic, life and death situations set in
many parts of Australia, plus England and California. The plot of each

BESTSELLING BOOK!!!!!?
answers1: Twilight Saga
answers2: I'm completely satisfied that it crowned the Twilight
sequence. I'm fairly completely happy that JK Rowling is again at
quantity one--in which, I consider, she merits to be. No. I didn't
open a replica of Tales of the Beedle Bard this morning, sadly. I bet
I'll get it another time. Merry Christmas. And a celebrity for you!
answers3: that depends. i read alot, and the books i love are very
diverse. <br>
<br>
i love terry pratchetts books, but i also love michael crichton. i
recently read the shadow of the wind and it was amazing. as was the
lord of the rings <br>
<br>
i also think that the very hungry catapillar is a classic. and the
harry potter books are brilliant. <br>
<br>
that said there is also alot of crap that makes teh bestseller like,
like twilight and anything by dan brown, and the books by katie price
(or her shadow writer) <br>
<br>
it just goes to show that a popular book is not always a good book.
answers4: Action, thriller, and mystery books are my favorite books.
Unfortunatly for me, many of the writers I do like, such as Sherrilyn
Kenyon, James Patterson, and Stephen King are best sellers so I have
to fight for copies of their books.
answers5: I think the Twilight Saga.
answers6: Air head!!
answers7: See, good books don't sell right now. Bestsellers are some
randomly written things, not books, by people stuck in the privy. Just
make some effort and read through the first chapter or any other
random one of the twilight SERIES *I'm STILL not gonna capitalize its
name* and see how badly written it is. As long as you have a smexy
protagonist or just any old smexy undead you'd sell like hell. <br>
If you want to write books that are GOOD when it comes to grammar,
ideas, plot, characters and everything twilight lacks just write of
something that matters to you. If you feel strong about what you've
written and you enjoyed creating it there's a good chance your
audience will too. <br>
See, books are mainly about feelings and passion. If you write without
feeling or any love/hate of the plot you've picked you might as well
do an essay on gym socks. <br>
Just to answer you, the kind of books that interest me right now are
written by Sir Terry Pratchett and are filled to a bursting point with
deep irony, hidden messages and TALENT put into the book. <br>
Don't let the label bestseller fool you, it means worstreader with
capital WORST. And it's not twilight only... About three or four
months ago I bought a book called The Book Thief, it had a good cover,
it had a good summary, it wasn't badly written. But. There was nothing
he wrote of. The most exciting thing in the whole book was of a girl
puking and her foster mother swearing at her.
