why is history important?

answers1: So that if somebody with the last name "Bush" were to run
for president, you would know why not to vote for him.
answers2: So that the negative does not repeat itself
answers3: because it teaches you about what happen on the old times
and so you won't do them again(what experience does) and staff like
that!
answers4: History gives one a greater perspective on the world and how
it came to be this way. It is necessary to learn history. It is an
invaluable resource for one to be able to cut through the bull that
the media (via the candidates) use to try to sway public opinion. A
working knowledge of history is extremely helpful in forming ones own
opinion.
answers5: Someone once said "One who knows no history remains a baby."
Now think about that and expand on it and you'll have a pretty good
essay.
answers6: So we don't repeat ourselves and don't make the same mistakes twice.
