Kizzy Hett: There is no easy way. It's a one hour ride on Amtrak, but it's VERY expensive to do every day, every other day or even every week. Amtrak does not do monthly passes, and besides, what you would spend monthly or daily commuting between Baltimore and Philadelphia, it would probably strain your finances even more. Taking the bus is much cheaper. You can get round trip tickets for as low as $18 on greyhound, but you're looking at over a two hour commute to and from Philadelphia every day. I say you should probably look into renting in Philadelphia. I am planning to actually move to Philadelphia from Baltimore, and I can honestly tell you that from my research, rent is about the same in both cities. It's actually probably a little cheaper than Baltimore. Baltimore's rent has been increasing because of the gentrification in DC (Baltimore's next door neighbor) A lot of people live in Baltimore and work in DC because the rent here is much cheaper. Baltimore realtors a! nd leasing agents have started to catch wind of this and are raising rent prices because they know they can as long as they don't get as outrageous as DC, people will still move because it's cheaper. Make your life much easier and just find a place in Philadelphia. Philly is a much bigger, faster, more exciting city than Baltimore anyway. You get more excitement, entertainment, night life, sports, restaurants, museums, theaters and housing options for just about the same cost of living....Show more
Dexter Dicostanzo: I can't imagine how commuting would be cheaper even if your rent in Baltimore is free. You really only have two options: bus or train. Train would be Amtrak and the least expensive train is $44 each way. Greyhound buses can be as low as $14 each way, which still works out to $520 for 5 round trips per week for 4 weeks. You can rent less than that if you split bills with a roommate or two....Show more
