Violette Vanek: I'm sorry to hear. That has got to be rough. You seem like a very strong person. Good for you for wanting to focus on your education. I don't know what state you live in, assuming you are in the U.S. You can go to www.hslda.com which is the Home School Legal Defense Association and try to find out information specific to where you live since each state has their own home school laws. You might even be able to find a phone number on their website to call and ask questions. They are very helpful. There are ways to home school for nearly free. One way is using the library and this website:www.amblesideonline.orgwww.khanacademy.org is another great resource. Also check out a local church in your area. See if there is a youth group that offers activities and times to hang out with other people your age. From experience, they're usually accepting people and more kind hearted than others there. I hope you are able to be home schooled. If I knew where you were, I w! ould probably be able to help more or even send you some home school curriculum books....Show more
Hilma Pestano: Most schools have a free cyber schooling programs, but you will need a computer.. Talk to your principal or guidance councler about it :) they'd know more than i do! & DO NOT end your life or even want to do it! I've gone through depression before and wanted to do that but then realized how precious my life is even thought i have problems. Good luck!
Giovanna Cramblit: Since money is an issue, I think you should look into switching to K12, which is free public school at home. The cost would be FREE.Of course, you could always get a library card and frequent the library. Sort of be in charge of your own schooling.
Shane Getler: No, it doesn't cost a lot. Doesn't have to, anyway, although you can find ways to make it expensive. Homeschool 101: http://www.wagnerweb.org/Homeschool_101
Agustina Stimmel: Like many things in life, homeschoolin! g costs run the gamut from very expensive to almost nothing, d! epending on how you do it.If you want brand new books and materials, someone to grade assignments and keep records for you, someone else to come in the home and teach you, someone to plan out what you will do, etc., then you'll likely have a pay a lot for homeschooling. But if you don't mind used materials, like to use the public library or free internet resources, don't mind planning and keeping your own records, etc. it can be very inexpensive. If your mom doesn't work, that makes things a lot simpler. She only speaks Spanish? Well, you have a good Spanish teacher to start with then. Let her plan how to improve your Spanish through conversation, Spanish library books, and more. As for the other subjects, since you can read, you can likely teach yourself a great deal from books and other sources. And your mom might surprise you--just because she speaks Spanish only doesn't necessarily mean that she didn't learn math and other subjects. If she truly can't help you, and ! you get stuck, you might be able to ask another family member, or a neighbor, or a librarian for help. Or you can get a tutor--if you can't pay one, try trading, bartering, for help. I know a homeschooling mom who arranged a tutor for her child by doing housecleaning for a tutor; perhaps you or your mom could find a high school student who could tutor you in exchange for Spanish tutoring....Show more
Leann Villalta: Home schooling is not so expensive. I think you can afford it easily! Try once.
Zulema Baccam: 1. It can be very INEXPENSIVE to homeschool. There are books that show you how to do it primarily using library books. There are used curriculum sales.2. Join the group with your Mom and go to a new homeschooler workshop, or ask if someone can show you the ropes. All homeschool groups help with this type of counselling.3. If there is no group, check out a book from the library like Cathy Duffy's book of top homeschool picks. Try ordering used off e! bay.4. Plan your curriculum by yourself basing it on what you would ha! ve taken if you had stayed in school or check out your state's graduation requirements. For instance 4 English classes, 2 Math, 2 Lab science, 4 Social Studies etc. or check the entrance requirements of a college you are interested in attending. 5. When you are 16, start taking some classes at your local community college and you can count those toward your high school diploma and get college credit cheaply.6. Keep whatever records your state requires. 7. You can do this!8. Above all, do some things that keep you connected with other kids. If your local organization is Christian, those kids will likely be very friendly and accepting and gentle. Join some activities with them so you work yourself out of your anxiety. You are a valuable person, created by God to do great things. Some new friends will make you feel better. Join the homeschool band, choir or drama group or take some classes if there is a homeschool co-op of some kind. 9. Bless you!...Show more
