What are the benefits of landscaping?

Serena Doak: Your wife can tend to that part of the yard and you do not have to mow it. It is absolutley beautiful and can add color to your backyard. Please answer mine:http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=200903...

Zelma Casebier: It gives your house more curb appeal and increases the value of your house, if it looks professional (but not by very much). It is also aesthetically appealing than a barren landscape. People make a decision if they are going to buy a house within 5 minutes of seeing it. The landscaping will give them a good feeling when first approaching the house.

Jeannine Vassie: the benefits for me is I enjoy it alot, i gets tons of compliments and if I ever decide to sell the curb appeal is outstanding and will get more people inside the house. but when it comes down to it like I said I love gardening so its not a chore to me its a hobby i really enjoy doing.

Rosie Travino: * Create usable spaces outside: sitting area, play are! a, garden area, service area thus adding total livable or usable square footage to your home. * Temper the elements that affect your home: sunlight, wind, noise, streetlight, dust. Block bad views, enhance good views (by blocking distractions). * Encourage wildlife to your yard for enjoyment: birds for sight and sound. * Enhance your home by downplaying faults or playing up good features (too small window, silly roof lines, leading eye to the correct front door --some homes have multiple doors on the front thus being confusing to guests)* Eliminate safety hazards: retain hillsides, provide steps, provide walls or fences, eliminate hideouts for burglars, add safety lights* Create a pleasing setting for your home including adding drama to the home.......such as with outdoor lighting. * Provide for seasonal diversity: planting items that change with the season adding interest to the landscape. * Increase the value of your property. (realize landscaping can also decrease hom! e's value if done improperly) * Correct problems such as drain! age issues, erosion, weeds, * Provide an opportunity to help the environment such as with rain-gardens which capture rain water or snow melt and keep it within the property instead of letting it run into the street to pick up road contamination and foul riverways as well as reduce surface flooding in city streets. * Help capture air pollutants within the plants themselves. given more time I could come up with more.........but that should get your started. No sites to offer.......sorry....Show more
